THE INONESIAN BATIK COLLECTION OF BARACK OBAMA'S MOTHER EXHIBITION

Batik is a traditional dress with many creative painting on the clothes.
After exhibiting in Los Angeles (June 1 - 4, 2009) and Chicago (May 17 - 20, 2009), the Indonesian batik collection of Obama's Mother, Ann Dunham was exhibited in San Fransisco (June 18 - 21, 2009). After that, the other cities where will be taken as an exhibition place are Houston (July 2 - 5, 2009), New York (July 21 - 24, 209), adn the last is in Washington (August 9 - 23, 2009). Above are some pictures of Indonesian Batik Collection of Barack Obama's Mother when exhibited in San Fransisco. In this time, there are 20 pieces of clothes and 2 pieces of shawls, the Indonesian Batik that were collected by ANn Dunham when she was living in Indonesia. Those batik consists of batik from Yogyakarta, Solo, Indramayu, Cirebon, Pekalongan, and Madura.
The theme of this exhibition is "A Lady Found A Culture in Its Cloth: Barack Obama`s Mother and Indonesian Batiks" and taken place in California College of the Arts, San Francisco. This exhibition was attended by more than 250 people.
